Let's talk about Self reflection in the lives of ministers.

Dear minister,

Don't be so engulfed in ministry that you forget to take a step back to reflect on yourself. This includes your relationship with God, your health, your relationship with people, and other important aspects of your life.

How is your attitude?

Are you still humble?

Has pride unknowingly begun to creep into your heart?

Have you started to see the success of your ministry as your own handiwork rather than God's grace?

Are you treating your workers and those under you with kindness and respect?

How Well Are You Guarding Your Heart Against Pride and Self-Sufficiency??

It is easy to become so focused on the work of ministry that we forget the One who called us. When we lose sight of God and rely on our own strength, pride subtly takes root. The Bible warns us:

"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." 

Remember 

King Uzziah was a great leader, but when he became strong, his heart was lifted in pride, leading to his downfall. No matter how far we go in ministry, we must remain humble and dependent on God.

How Do You Treat Others?

Ministry is about people. Even Jesus, the greatest leader, was also the greatest servant. He washed His disciples feet to teach us humility in leadership (John 13:12-17). If we are harsh, dismissive, or disrespectful to those we lead, we are not following Christ’s example.

Prioritizing Your Walk with God....

Preaching, teaching, and leading are important, but they must never replace personal devotion and intimacy with God. Without Him, we can do nothing. We must seek Him daily, not just for ministry but for our own spiritual growth.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33

Take time to reflect. Ask God to search your heart and reveal any areas that need correction. Stay humble, stay accountable, and always remember: ministry is not about making a name for ourselves,it’s about glorifying God.
