Miyetti Allah Calls for Arrest of Sunday Igboho Over Alleged Threats to Fulani Herders

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has demanded the arrest of Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba self-determination activist. This call comes in response to a video where Igboho allegedly threatened Fulani herders.

In the video, Igboho urged his supporters not to wait for government intervention but to take action against Fulani herders who are reportedly denying local farmers access to their farmland in the South-West region. He called for unity among the people of the South-West to create a regional security force to protect them from attacks.

However, the Nigerian military has expressed readiness to work with Igboho to flush out bandits terrorizing the region, but emphasized that any action taken by Igboho without involving the military and other security agencies would be considered unconstitutional.

In a statement, MACBAN's national president, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, called for Igboho's arrest and prosecution, labeling his statements as "treasonable." Ngelzarma urged President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to take action against Igboho, citing Nnamdi Kanu's case as precedent for such actions.

MACBAN emphasized the importance of law and order, condemning vigilantism and ethnic profiling. They stressed that individuals should be held accountable for their actions regardless of their background.
