After a serious campaign by all political parties in Kogi Central in 2023 below is the result:

Natasha Akpoti. ~54,000 (PDP)
Abubakar Ohere. ~51,000 (APC)
Others. . ~ 4,000
Total vote cast ~110,000

Now that they started a jamboree kangaroo Recall process the have gathered a total signature of 250,000 people that's a Surplus votes of 140,000.

The couldn't get 150,000 people to come out to vote in 6 months of campaing, but have convinced 250,000 people to sign a Recall petition against Natasha H Akpoti .

8th time in a row Finland 🇫🇮 is the World’s Happiest Country! Is our country really so happy as World Happiness Report says?

Well, let’s first clear one thing. In these past 8 years no one asked me! No one.

And I heard they did not either from @Corina Maiwald. My happy German origin friend living in Finland now.

Anyhow, we need to ask what Corina and others think about this but let me first share my views.

Finland truly is one of the happiest and best countries in the World. Especially during the spring-summer-fall time.

The clean pure nature where we then get to enjoy our leisure time and celebrate midsummer - Like here in the picture below and to go pick berries from the forests, swim in lakes, rivers and sea.

And overall enjoy the beauty of a country where everyone have quite equal opportunities to education and basic income assuring that all of us have roof over our head, warmth and food - Is indeed something to be happy and grateful for.

These times when the World gives us many reasons for unhappiness, fears and sadness - We can still focus on the basic things that are well for us.

And with that, assure that others have it as well!

As much as ever, this World needs so much more love for another and so much common faith that the future can be bright once again - No matter how dark and hopeless many of the news try to make us feel.

The former presidential candidate of the Labour Party and former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has commented on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspend Governor Fubara.

Mr OBI wrote:

The unilateral decision of President Bola Tinubu to remove Governor Similaya Fubara of Rivers State from office is not only unconstitutional but also reckless.

It has plunged us back into a state of lawlessness, hugely undoing the progress we have made in these 26 years of democratic journey.

By disregarding the rule of law, the President has shown a dangerous willingness to trample on democracy.

The declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State is not just reckless—it is a clear attempt to return us to a state of nature and tighten its grip on power at all costs.

It is a degrading back door imposition of martial rule on a strategic part of the federation with all the implied negatives .

The political situation on the ground in Rivers does not justify such an extreme measure, and it is also a biased interpretation of section 305(1) of the 1999 constitution.

A state of emergency does not mean an elected Governor can be removed unilaterally. This decision does not align with democratic norms or good governance. Instead, it appears to be a predetermined action serving specific interests rather than the collective good of the people of Rivers State and Nigeria.

This action constitutes an unconstitutional overreach, setting a dangerous precedent that threatens democracy, the rule of law, and the separation of powers. If left unchecked, it could foster a culture of impunity.

Having already been grappling with non-adherence to electoral qualifications, rules, and massive rigging, adding arbitrary removal of elected officials will push us to a state of nature and anarchy.

I appeal to the National Assembly and all stakeholders not to allow this to stand, as it only deepens the culture of impunity and brigand already threatening our democracy.

A new Nigeria is POssible!
