Curriculum

As per the National Medical Commission (NMC), the course duration for an MBBS should be a minimum of 5.5 years, including a 1-year MBBS internship duration, and foreign universities follow the NMC guidelines and offer an MBBS degree to students. The duration of the MBBS course abroad is 6 years, with 1 year of clinical internship, which is mandatory.

  • Theoretical and clinical education: The first five years are for theoretical and clinical education.

  • Internship: The final year is for an internship in a hospital or clinic affiliated with a well-recognised college or university that is well-recognized.

Course Structure: Academic Phase (5 Years / 60 Months)

Here is the course structure cited, which is followed by the major Uzbekistan medical universities. The whole course duration is 6 years and is divided into 3 phases, which are pre-clinical, Para-Clinical, and clinical, with one year of Compulsory Rotatory Medical Internship.

  • Pre-Clinical: Focuses on foundational sciences like Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry.

  • Para-Clinical: Covers subjects like Pathology, Microbiology, and Pharmacology.

  • Clinical: Intensive practical training in diagnosis and management across various clinical departments (Surgery, Medicine, Paediatrics, etc.).
