Peter Obi sent me N250,000 for my mother’s burial without adding anything” – Kanayo
Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has recounted a fascinating story involving the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that happened during his mother’s funeral.
He stated that the politician, who is known to be prudent, gave him the sum of N250,000 when he lost his mother in 2011, the exact cost of a cow.
The actor was taken aback by the fact that, given his reputation, some would have expected Obi to give him millions but all he sent was enough money to buy a cow.
However, he said that, whatever the former governor of Anambra handed him, what mattered most was that he took time out of his hectic schedule to contact the man and offer his sympathies.
