1 Peter 4:7b-11; Luke 5:1-11

*TRUST BEYOND EXHAUSTION*

Simon Peter and his friends had been fishing all night, but caught nothing. They were exhausted, frustrated and ready to give up. *Then came Jesus* with an instruction to Simon Peter to lower his net for a catch. Every logical reasoning told him that lowering his nets again was pointless. And yet… he obeyed.

As soon as Peter obeyed and surrendered, he realized who stood before him; the One who fills emptiness, who turns failure into overflow and turns sorrows into joy. And he fell to his knees, overwhelmed by grace.

Have you also felt like your problem is spinning out of control? Like you have tried everything, but nothing seems to be working? Maybe you, too, have been casting your nets with no results. Maybe your heart is tired and your prayers feel unheard.

My dear friend, Jesus is still in the neighbourhood. In the midst of your chaos, God says to you: *“Be calm and know that I am God” - Psalm 46:10.* When we are calm, we are able to think clearly, to reason wisely and to respond to God faithfully. Trust God’s sovereignty, God’s timing and control. If you can surrender to Him this season, you will see His intervention.
