  • As I am enjoying this Friday night I am thinking about the comment from Bill Gates how AI will impact our workweek

According to some post I saw, he says it will lead into 2 to 3 day workweek! Instead of machines ”stealing our jobs”.

Anyhow, here in Finland, for example our former Prime Minister Sanna Marin has been proposing us 4 day workweeks.

I am all for that, too!

    Some of my reasons are:

    1) Having one office day available to take care of things, go to offices (bank, doctor etc) run errands… To name few.
    2) One day would be for rest and rejuvenation
    3) A day to meet people as we have distanced from one another - Especially after the covid crisis

There is so much loneliness. And also, the day to gather could include outdoor or other activity for body as well. As our health overall seems to be declined.

As much as I am totally pro work woman having my career and enjoying what I do with and for people and businesses - I feel that we should not live for working but work for living.

My long ago passed Grandma Selma used to say when electric appliences showed up that ”That is the time we should rest”.

Now instead of all the electronics benefitting us our days run out with them. Not good!

So let us keep working towards more pleasant life worth of living for all - And let us never let our work define our worth or happiness in life!

    With love,

Focus on the progress, not the pace. Celebrate small wins, and don't be too proud to ask for help. Remember, every great achievement started with a single step. Be patient, stay consistent, and trust that your hard work will pay off. You are building a life, not ordering a meal. Enjoy the process, and know that your time will come."*

  • WOMB ON TRIAL

    EPISODE 1:

I think I made a mistake choosing Emeka. Or maybe the mistake was marrying into this family. If only I had seen the signs earlier… if only I had listened to my instincts. But love has a way of blinding you, making you believe that all will be well.

I should have known something was wrong when my mother-in-law smiled too much at our wedding. That was not the smile of a mother welcoming a daughter—it was the smile of a queen who had just acquired a servant.

Now, here I sit in the middle of a family meeting, feeling like a criminal on trial. I glance at Emeka, silently begging him to say something, anything. But he stares at the floor like a child being scolded.

“Nkechi,” my mother-in-law’s voice is sharp, dragging my attention back to her. “It has been two years, yet we see no sign of a child. What exactly is the problem?”

I swallow hard. I had heard the rumors—how women in this family are expected to bear a son within the first two years of marriage. But I never imagined they would actually summon me like this, like a disobedient child.

“I—I believe God’s time is the best,” I stammer.

My sisters-in-law scoff. One of them, Ifeoma, leans forward. “That’s what barren women say.”

A cold chill runs through my spine. Barren? The word stings like acid. I look at Emeka again, hoping, praying for him to say something. But he remains silent. His mother smirks, as if enjoying my humiliation.

“Listen carefully, Nkechi,” she continues. “In this family, a woman secures her place by giving birth to a male child. If you cannot do that, then we must consider… other options.”

A suffocating silence fills the room. I feel my heartbeat in my throat. Other options? What does she mean?

“Let’s give her a little more time,” Emeka finally speaks.

For a second, relief washes over me—until I realize his voice lacks conviction. He is not defending me. He is only delaying their judgment.

As I sit there, my mind screams at me. Run, Nkechi. Run while you still can.

    But where will I go?

    TO BE CONTINUED...✍️✍️✍️✍️

  • I have a new one for you: #TGIM!!!!

    Why?

Because it is in our hands to start new week and every new day in positive terms.

As much as I love weekends, vacations and sparetime - It all would be nothing without workdays and weeks.

It is during the workdays we sow so that we can reap the fruits and enjoy that time off.

There has to be a balance and there has to be joy - In both!

If there is no joy in your work with what you do you most likely suffer 5 days a week and often that dissatisfaction shadows the weekends as well.

Ask yourself - Is this really life worth of living?

So today it is your chance to change your life. Think about what you could do that would bring you more joy?

That would make you wake up with happiness and gratitude each and every day?

Or truly really most of the days.

Think about and make this slogan something that you will use every Monday from your heart:

    Thank God it’s Monday! ☀️🙏🏻☀️

So how do we make this day and week count?

    💛 Juudit

  • Saturday is definitely the best day of the week for me 🤍 Reward and rest after often hectic and demanding workweek

The moment when I can enjoy my morning coffee ☕️ peacefully and just take things slow and easy.

I also often enjoy nicer breakfast then or even prepare a small brunch.

Today I dug out one of my very favorite Moomin mug out of the cupboard. It’s bake in Finnish is ”Rantaelämää” Beach life in English - But I have always called the mug ”Bikini Moomin mug”.

Now when it is spring here in Finland and the sun is back also the nice sunny bright summery colors and thinks come back to life.

I also want to share something interesting about this Moomin mug. It was manufactured in 2008. Price then was probably 10€ ($10). Now if you search for it online people have to pay even 100€ ($100) for it!

Finnish people not only love those Moomin stories by Tove Jansson but collect these Moomin mugs as well.

I have even sent some out to the States after the live I had with Michele Gunn couple years ago.

Not only are they nice but they grow in value too.

Though, no matter the price, some things are never sold in life if you truly love them. So this specific Moomin mug of mine would not be sold even with 100€/$100. 😁

Anyhow, how do you grow in value as a person and professional? Do you see your value and all that bring on the table? And do you invest in you?

I hope today you would think about your own value deeply.

Think how unique you are and what you bring into this World!

And share with us, if you are courageous enough!

    With love 🧡
