Independence Day Reflections: Today marks Nigeria’s 65th year of Independence from British colonial rule,and as we celebrate I can’t help but reflect on the state of Nigeria because for me Independence is more than a date on the calendar,it is a moment for deep reflection and truth. Today, as we celebrate the birth of our nation, I cannot help but ask myself: what exactly are we independent of, and what are we still chained to? We celebrate freedom from colonial rule, but are we truly free from corruption, poverty, ethnic division, and the chains of bad leadership? Are we free from the manipulations of ethnicity and religion, or are we still puppets to the same forces that divide and weaken us? For me, independence is not simply about waving of flags or singing our national anthem,it is also not about long political speeches and television broadcasts. It is about the dignity of a people who stand tall in honesty, creativity, resilience and a desire for progress. It is about a child being able to dream in Nigeria and see that dream come alive without knowing someone at the top or having to run abroad. It is about leaders who serve the people, not themselves. It is about communities where justice reigns, where citizens are valued, and where no Nigerian feels like a stranger or refugee in their own land. I believe that the true spirit of independence begins in the heart of every citizen. Each of us must decide “Will I contribute to the decay, or will I be part of the rebirth? Will I join the chorus of despair, or will I raise my voice with hope, action, and truth?” This is why I write, why I speak, and why I build. Because nations are not transformed by silence. They are transformed by ordinary people who dare to dream extraordinary dreams, and who act on them. Today, I stand with every Nigerian who refuses to give up on this land. Our challenges are great, but our possibilities are greater. Our wounds are deep, but our healing can be deeper. If only we choose unity, discipline, love, and truth, and our leaders at all levels choose honour and selflessness over greed and corruption,then independence will not just be a historical event, it will be a living reality. Happy Independence Day my fellow Nigerians. May our flag not be just a symbol, but a promise of the future that we are yet to build. 🇳🇬

Let’s tackle one serious issue where we fail and fall with others - We believe them being as we are 🎭 One of the hard lessons is to learn to see others as they are - Not as reflection of us. Often when we have a good kind heart and are not wanting to hurt others intentionally - We fail to miss the fact that there are many people who are willing to hurt us. Not only is this a problem in our personal lives but this can be even problem in worklife. You keep doing your best and more, giving your all, over performing - Thinking it would lead into rewards and recognition. Now, in case your supervisor or the one who has power to reward you and is like you, this will happen - And it would happen in relatively short time. In healthy organizations where overall people are valued. However, if you are led (or rather managed) by leader or even leaders who: 🆘 See you as competition 🆘 Who have no healthy selfesteem 🆘 Who do not love or care about others 🆘 Who are greedy 🆘 Who are willing to harm others Just to mention few… You will never rise in your position! Since it will never be about you! So as we are here to impact lives positively, to lead through love (no matter your position) and influence people by the reflection from the light we are to the World 🌎✨ Understand, that if your counterpart is as mentioned in the list above, your chances to see any positive turns in your situation can be next to impossible. There are times when we feel either far from home - Or very far from our targets and goals As if nothing we do leads to them. Causing disappointment, frustration, feelings of wanting to give up. As I was driving in the countryside this long road today it gave me multiple thoughts. One thought is to encourage us all to enjoy the journey. If and when the journey is tough and feels fruitless - How about if you are focusing on a wrong thing? How about if you take new look and see how the journey has impacted you. At times the fruit is actually in pruning. We feel pains and it feels like it is totally useless. But through that pain we gain much more clarity for ways ahead and we can see much more clearer what to keep and what to put aside.
