I heard my mother asking the neighbors for salt. Yet, we had some at home. Intrigued, I asked her why she did that. She replied with a wise smile:

"Our neighbors don't have much money, and they often ask us for something. From time to time, I also ask them for something small and inexpensive, so they feel that we need them too. This way, they'll feel more comfortable, and it will be easier for them to continue asking us for what they need."

That day, I understood that solidarity isn't just about giving. It's also about knowing how to receive to preserve the dignity of those who ask. It's about learning to balance human relationships so that no one feels inferior to another.
