Darkest season of our year has begun here in Finland 🇫🇮 leading us to Christmas and New Year 2026 at the same time Sunrise is after 9am and sunset around 3pm. Giving us about 6 hours of daylight, which does not include actually seeing the sun even. You see gray. Just as in my picture from today just around the sunset. It’s gray. It’s rainy. It’s dull. Even snow that was giving light to our environment - melted. But anyhow tomorrow is 1st Advent 🕯️ meaning that Christmas season begins. We will start to see more and more lights around, candles burning, decorations and scents of the season around us. That will take away some of that heaviness we may feel due to this period of darkness. Also, when the days are short without much sunshine our energies drop too. And often leading us to spend most of the time indoors. This time can be challenging for many. Anyhow, now I am asking from Finns or others of you with creative minds: What would you do in order to make this dark and dull season more bearable? So much to be thankful for - Each and every day. No matter the times! Easy times give us joy and light weight happiness - Which we can easily take for granted. But the lessons and growth that hard times teach us - Those truly are something else! Have you learned that some of our most painful experiences can become most meaningful ones. Let’s tackle one serious issue where we fail and fall with others - We believe them being as we are 🎭 One of the hard lessons is to learn to see others as they are - Not as reflection of us. Often when we have a good kind heart and are not wanting to hurt others intentionally - We fail to miss the fact that there are many people who are willing to hurt us. Not only is this a problem in our personal lives but this can be even problem in worklife. You keep doing your best and more, giving your all, over performing - Thinking it would lead into rewards and recognition. Now, in case your supervisor or the one who has power to reward you and is like you, this will happen - And it would happen in relatively short time. In healthy organizations where overall people are valued. However, if you are led (or rather managed) by leader or even leaders who: 🆘 See you as competition 🆘 Who have no healthy selfesteem 🆘 Who do not love or care about others 🆘 Who are greedy 🆘 Who are willing to harm others Just to mention few… You will never rise in your position! Since it will never be about you! So as we are here to impact lives positively, to lead through love (no matter your position) and influence people by the reflection from the light we are to the World 🌎✨ Understand, that if your counterpart is as mentioned in the list above, your chances to see any positive turns in your situation can be next to impossible. There are times when we feel either far from home - Or very far from our targets and goals As if nothing we do leads to them. Causing disappointment, frustration, feelings of wanting to give up. As I was driving in the countryside this long road today it gave me multiple thoughts. One thought is to encourage us all to enjoy the journey. If and when the journey is tough and feels fruitless - How about if you are focusing on a wrong thing? How about if you take new look and see how the journey has impacted you. At times the fruit is actually in pruning. We feel pains and it feels like it is totally useless. But through that pain we gain much more clarity for ways ahead and we can see much more clearer what to keep and what to put aside. Now, I want you to look at this picture and let it speak to you and to your life. Where are you at right now? Where have you come from? Where are you going? The road ahead may seem endless at times but never forget what comes when you reach your destination Never forget why you are taking those steps ahead. During the days when you feel lost, you feel like there is no direction, no ways ahead - Take a good pause. Remind yourself where you are going and why. Remind yourself about your role and value you specifically bring into the equation! We tend to forget. You are there for a reason! LOL For some reason I did not make one in Midsummer 2023 but otherwise it has been a nice Midsummer (Juhannus in Finnish 🇫🇮) tradition for me since 2021. Have you made a flower wreath yourself? For me this has become one of the nicest traditions ever along with being with loved ones (family / close friends) during Midsummer, seeing bonfire, grilling sausages etc, chilling and having fun in our nightless night with almost 24 hours daylight. ☀️🇫🇮 If you or your family do not have traditions you can also start some. People ask: Is your cup half empty or half full? Mine is overflowing as you can see. I think trying to hold the balance and all in gravity and my speedy moves. I don’t know if it is about the amount but rather what is it filled with and how you handle it. My overflowing cup contains various things. Some days it overflows with joy and some days hardships or headaches. I feel it is on me and you to decide how to handle it. How about if your cup is just full of troubles and sorrows - But you do not allow it to ruin your moods or day. For me some things and ways of people can irritate so much that if you would see the invisible - I would look like a chimney. Nerves burning big time. Anyhow, I have learned to take many of my thoughts and attitudes captive much faster and despite the moment of great despair (LOL), it only stays for a moment.
